    The Association of the Croatian Language Teachers in Victoria has been established in the late seventies. The Association worked closely with the Institute of Croatian Language and Parents Association in the long crusade for the recognition of the Croatian Language. Croatian Language was recognised in 1980 by Victorian Government.   • Croatian Studies Foundation of Australia and New Zealand
    The Croatian language studies program at Macquarie University commenced in February 1983, following this the Croatian Studies Foundation of Australia and New Zealand was established in August of 1984. The Foundation is comprised of a large number of Croatian organisations, clubs and institutions as well as individual members Australia wide.   • Macquarie University Croatian Studies
    The teaching program of the discipline of Croatian Studies at Macquarie University was introduced in 1983 thanks to the Commonwealth Government’s special grant under its community languages program. This made Macquarie one of the first tertiary institutions in the world where Croatian language, Croatian literature and culture enjoyed full academic and cultural autonomy, freedom and independence.
