FIRST AUSTRALIAN CROATIAN WORLD GAMES PLAYERS SELECTED (ARCHIVE)

Six tennis players were selected to represent Australia at the July 2010 Croatian World Games in Zadar - Aeron Martinovic, Tom Klaric and Marko Juric, together with Veterans Marin Matesic, Stipe Saric and Bruno Radesic.

The tennis qualifiers were held in Adelaide on Saturday 26th September amidst the threat of wind, hail and rain. Fortunately the weather was kind enough to allow a number of sets to be played, providing a glimpse of what might be expected from the Australian men’s tennis representation. At a subsequent interview, players Aeron Martinovic and Bruno Radesic, implored Croatian Australian women tennis players to consider registering for the Croatian World Games, in order to establish a Croatian Australian women’s tennis squad.

Both players have significant tennis experience, with Areon having played at the South Australian state level and in the satellite tournaments in Croatia, whilst Bruno has coached tennis in Croatia and Italy.

Registrations for women’s tennis and top up spots for the men’s teams, as well as all the other sporting disciplines available, can be made at the Croatian World Games marquee during at the forthcoming 35th Annual Australian & New Zealand Croatian Soccer Tournament in Adelaide, or by registering online at www.croatiasa.com
