| The Soccer Club change rooms are near completion,
just some finishing touches and we will have one of the best soccer facilities in the
State.
We have achieved a major goal set out by the Croatian Sports Centre, something that the
soccer club has been aspiring to for several years. In conjunction with the change rooms,
work is also under way to complete the interior of the club rooms. The area under the
grandstand will be the new home of the Adelaide Croatia Soccer Club and it will house bar
and entertaining facilities as well as offices for the various committees. At present the
bar area is being used on game day to serve food and drinks to the public and the visiting
teams to our new facilities have expressed their approval. They are extremely impressed
with the professional layout and amount of space provided. Also a favourite with crowd on
game day is the new grandstand which seats around 400 people, its perfectly
positioned behind the Croatia bench which gives inspiration to our boys on the park.
The club rooms have already been christened by popular Croatian singer JOLE, when he
performed over a month ago. The new area can cater for approximately 300 people with
kitchen and bar facilities. Already the new bar is proving a real hit, we have taken on
suggestions from our members and have provided them with the longest bar possible!

The Roof Is Going Up!
As many of you already know, Mate Kulas has been working
extremely hard collecting pledges of $1000 of more from people wishing to see a roof over
the grandstand. Well that wish has just become a reality and work has commenced and the
steelwork is going up. It is planned to completed by October long weekend ready for the
soccer tournament along with courtyard at the side of the club rooms. This will assist in
catering for the large amount of interstate guests when they converge on Adelaide once
again. It can be viewed as a milestone in the history of the Croatian Community in South
Australia to stage such an event using our very own facilities. Something which past
organises of the tournament could have only dreamt of. Many thanks to all whom have
donated funds and to all of those who have designed, fabricated and installed the roof and
walls so far.

Olive Trees
The Croatian Sports Centre is embarking on a new
project, to plant olive trees on our land at Gepps Cross. We have purchased 500 trees and
we are giving people the opportunity to claim a tree for themselves. For $5 per tree you
can purchase and plant your own tree at the Croatian Sports Centre.
In years to come there may be the potential to sell olive oil produced from our trees
helping to off set the running costs of the Sports Centre. For further details please see
